Reversal on Sunday construction is wise. Now let’s move to a five-day building week

The NSW government’s decision to reverse its plan to allow construction work on Sundays is not just a win for neighbours’ peace and quiet. It will support workers’ rights to enjoy the weekend, too, according to Dr Natalie Galea writing for The Sydney Morning Herald.

Dr Galea is the research lead for Project 5: A Weekend for Every Worker, a two-year research study by the Australian Human Rights Institute found a positive link between the five-day work week and improvements in construction workers’ wellbeing.
