Global human rights watchdog puts Australia on notice

Following several controversial appointments to the Australian Human Rights Commission, a global watchdog has raised concerns about its independence.

Australia has been given 15 months to address concerns about commissioners being handpicked by the government, or face being downgraded by the International Standards Body.

Director of the Australian Human Rights Institute, Professor Justine Nolan, joined ABC Radio National's Breakfast program to discuss the developments.
