Launch: Human Rights Defender magazine's 30th anniversary issue

For 30 years, Human Rights Defender magazine has been chronicling human rights issues in Australia and around the world, featuring the writing of leading rights activists and thinkers.

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, more than a dozen human rights defenders have contributed to a bumper edition looking at past, present and future human rights challenges.

Four of the edition's contributors joined a virtual launch event to discuss their articles, look back at 30 years of human rights activism, and provide their predictions for the issues likely to dominate human rights work in the years ahead.

  • Hugh de Kretser, Executive Director, Human Rights Law Centre

  • Rebecca Peters, AO, Gun Law Reform Advocate

  • Ketan Joshi, Author of Windfall: Unlocking a Fossil-Free Future
