Ageism in society - how can we work together to combat age discrimination?

This event will explore the impact of ageism and age discrimination in society, and showcase the UNSW academics and current initiatives that are dedicated to tackling ageism head on. Ageism refers to the stereotypes (how we think), prejudice (how we feel) and discrimination (how we act) towards others or oneself based on age.

Hear from experts in law, medicine, science and design as they discuss their work and learn about how you can get involved with the newly launched UNSW SpEciAl intereSt group ON ageiSm (SEASONS).

Refreshments and finger food will be provided, as well as an opportunity to network with speakers and attendees. The event will finish with a screening of the short documentary, Golden: the end of Ageism. Registrations are essential for catering.

This event is co-hosted by the UNSW Ageing Futures Institute, the Australian Human Rights Institute and NeuRA.
